Acaki Lodge is a half way resting place between Murchison Falls National park and Kidepo Valley National Park. Right at the start of Kitgum

The Lodge is, “a cool resting place” built and designed in an African traditional style in the heart of Kitgum, providing quality pristine accommodation that ensures comfort of home away from home. Acaki promises warmth, tranquility and good food, fine wine for business travelers as well as those on retreats and holiday.

“Acaki” in the local Acholi language is translated in English as “The beginning” or “The genesis” or in Greek “the Alpha”. The name is derived from its location at the entry gate in to Kitgum municipality This Gem that sits on a 20-acre former garbage dump is a family owned and run business. Dison and Annet Okumu who are passionate conservationists, are the brains behind this Lodge and are also indigenous Acholi from Kitgum. Little wonder that they decided to give back to the community by investing back home. Acaki Lodge has 10 self-appointed grass thatched cottages and 2 safari style tents, all of which has been named after wild animals that once inhabited the region, only now in the local language
