GORILLAS IN TIME

Basing on this itinerary, your arrival time at Entebbe International Airport should not be later than 0700hrs because on this day, you will be heading direct to Lake Mburo National Park in the South west of Uganda.

Today you will visit Lake Mburo National Park in the western part of Uganda, about 4 hours’ drive from the capital city of Uganda, Kampala. Have lunch on arrival and later go for an afternoon game drive. While on the game drive, you may spot animals like Zebras, Impala, Buffaloes, Buffalo, Topi, and Eland among others. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride, and get to see hippos and crocodiles and various water birds like the rare shoebill stock, Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle and many others.

Rwakobo Rock

Rwakobo is nestled on a scenic outcrop with breathtaking views. Animals such as zebra, warthog, impala and bushbuck abound around the lodge and often congregate at the water hole beneath the dining area. At night the sounds of bush come to life and allow your imagination to run wild. Rwakobo offers private thatched cottages, with solar lighting, flush toilets and solar heated showers, which blend into the natural landscape.  The cottages are dotted around the hill taking advantage of rocky ledges and secluded corners. The cottages celebrate the natural lines of the surrounding wilderness. They also provide guests with real comfort and luxury that doesn’t cost the earth.

Have breakfast and go for a morning game drive as you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national Park. Expect to spot animals like Zebras, Impala, Buffaloes, Buffalo, Topi, and Eland among others. Bwindi national park is located further in the south-western part of Uganda next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the Albertine Rift. Bwindi national park is a home to various animal and bird species these including over 214 species of birds and 120 species of mammals. This park is well known for its endangered mountain Gorillas but apart from the gorillas there are other animals like the ‘Hoest’s monkey, African elephant, African green broadbill, Grauer’s rush warbler, Chaplin’s flycatcher, African giant swallowtail among others. Lunch will be enroute.  You may do an OPTIONAL community visit. Later relax at the Lodge.

This lodge offers a luxury gorilla experience in a soothing romantic nature with an ancient allure of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This lodges offers unique and outstanding services to its clients with its well-equipped restaurant, a luxury lounge and bar. All these giving client’s an ultimate feel of relaxation and indulgence.

This will be the day to encounter the endangered mountain gorillas. After your breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed and guided by the park rangers about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. This activity will take you 2-10hrs depending on the movement of the gorillas. Other animals and birds might be spotted too and these include the l’Hoest’s monkey, African elephant, birds like the African green broadbill, Grauer’s rush warbler, Chaplin’s flycatcher, African giant swallowtail among others. After tracking, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Have breakfast and fly back to Kampala/Entebbe. Drop off will be at your residence in Kampala or at the airport.
